Sciatica

Overview

Pain that travels down your leg from your lower back, following the path of the sciatic nerve.

Detailed Description

Sciatica refers to pain radiating along the sciatic nerve pathway, typically from the lower back through the buttock and down the posterior thigh. It results from compression or irritation of the lumbar nerve roots that form the sciatic nerve, commonly L4, L5, or S1.

ELDOA addresses sciatica by creating space at the lumbar segments where nerve root compression typically occurs. L5-S1 and L4-L5 ELDOA positions are particularly valuable for reducing pressure on the neural structures involved in sciatica.

Beyond local decompression, ELDOA addresses sciatica by improving posterior chain mobility. Tension in the piriformis, hamstrings, and other posterior structures can contribute to sciatic symptoms, and ELDOA's whole-system approach addresses these factors.
